Step lightly

Lush green stems covered in a crunchy carpet
Of pure auburn, the final of cry of
Nature as it so rapidly passes over.
Step lightly on the poor dear leaves, they’ve
Fallen to their death, let them find honour in that
As they end up roaming the world at
The mercy of the wind.
