Hollow

Just like the ancient statue that’s seen far too
Many shadow-filled days of sadness, the colour starts
To fade from the young and supposedly lively brain.
All that was once awash with colour and vitality,
Is replaced by nothing as the structure that was before
Sensuous, falls to grains of grey sand to be
Wafted away in the wind, at the mercy of all demanding
Beings.
Everything’s gone, the past all lost to the present,
Colours all faded to nothing, all hope for
The future vanished as slowly hollowness takes over
And emptiness reigns.
