Autumn All Gone

The leaves have fallen, only
A few solitary sods hanging on by
The tips of their stems. The day
Is shorter, sun rise and dusk
Within eight hours of each
Other, barely light for breakfast
And gone long before dinner. Mildness
All gone, frosty counterpanes
Linger near. Brrrr, winter is
Nearly here
