Love in Splendour

A bouquet of red roses,
All dipped in crimson glitter,
Await by your pillow for when you

Big box of chocolates,
A sumptuous breakfast
In bed, cream, caramel
And strawberry, every chocolate
Lovers dream.

Cartier diamonds nestled
In black velvet, ready
To adorn that fine long

Dozens of lines of poetry
Written just by him,
Ready to be read at the party
Once you have said ‘yes’.

The chandeliers are glittering,
The champagne flutes are full,
But nothing compares to
The kneeling tuxedo, whose
Voice is ringing in the hall.

The sighs and gasps are captured
By a poised photographer,
The memory will hang on the wall
For all the times to come,
And it shall be named:
Love in Splendour.
