Her

It’s better than caffeine,
Who needs coffee anyway?
Can there truly be any better
Way to start the day,
Than having kisses lavished
On every single inch of skin?
Who needs air when there
Is the scent of you,
On every pillow, the quilt,
The sheets. The sun breaking
Through the curtains was nothing
Compared to that guilty grin.

And then just like that,
A flash,
It all ended and she woke up,
Faced with an empty bed
And an empty heart.
But she didn’t lament
For she knew one he would be hers.
