Stormy Love

Everything seemed to stop,
The howling winds subdued
To nothing more than a whisper,
The branches stopped gripping
At the cloak that was draped
Around her shoulders. Top soil
Was no longer being flung
Away by a merciless force.
It seemed that even the clouds stilled
And let the moon shine for a moment.
One glistening moment when her eyes
Were met with his, worry glittering
Brightly, and then it was over.
The storm raged on, until at last
She was dragged along and lost
In the abyss of love.
